We entered an area where people had been driven by political disruption. When we arrived, we found an elderly gentleman who was blind, who along with a teenage girl, had taken in fifteen orphans. Here he is with two of them.

Below is a picture of where he sleeps, in rags, and at the bottom right hand corner of the picture, is a bowl of food... for them all.

His hut roof and walls.
We've discovered that in may places of the world, there is an abundance of water. The real problem is, that most of it is not fit for human consumption. MORE WATER PICTURES
With no way to purify their water, people end up drinking what they have.
Purifying water is really not that difficult, or expensive. There are numerous ways to accomplish this, and different places require different approaches. We're working with the water filter technology provided by CAWST, Canada... MORE FILTER PICTURES
No matter where we go, we find the people to be amazing. They have smiles, even when they have little esle. We've learned a lot from them, maybe more then we've even given...
An amazing experience!.. When we started this mision, God had spoken to me and told me that I had to go and serve the people who served us, as a family, while I was growing up. This meant that I had to reconnect with people I'd not seen for over 25 years, in a place I'd never been before. Not even knowing if the man I knew was still living, and having never met his wife or his family, I travelled to the region where I thought he lived. (God, you'd better be in this!)

The story is long, and deeply significant, but in a nut shell... In a region of Zimbabwe, of possibly a million people, we made a first stop along the road to ask some fruit vendors if any anyone knew of the Mutabiri family. No-one knew of them, but some-one suggested we go up to the hospital at the top of the hill, and ask there. So... the second stop was the hospital. Our interpretor went in, and asked the first nurse she saw, who then suggested asking another nurse. The second nurses response to the question, was "Yes, he was my brother!"

Unfortunately, the man who had served us had passed away a year before we had arrived, but this second nurse offered to take us to his village where his wife still lives. We drove there, found his wife, and after a few moments of conversation to explain who I was, his wife burst into tears with a mix if emotions.

The next hour was truly life changing, with other significant moments within it. One comment his wife made was, "Just last month, I told my family, "Where are the Clarks? Why do they not come and pay respects to my late husband?" ... and here I was!

This is only the nutshell version... there's more which some of you will hear from time to time. This though, was the begining of Mercy Mandate... MORE PEOPLE PICTURES
